About Glencraig

' The first Camphill community was built around the care and education of children with learning difficulties, and this theme continues strongly today, with most of the nearly 100 centres in 20 countries based on work with children, adolescents and/or adults with special needs.'

' Camphill Community Glencraig was founded in 1954, when a group of parents and friends of children and adults with special needs acquired a beautiful estate of 100 acres, sloping down to the southern shore of Belfast Lough. Inspired by the work of Dr. König at Camphill, near Aberdeen in Scotland, they had wished to establish a similar place in Northern Ireland. Today, Glencraig is a community of about 200 people, with its woods, fields and parklands surrounding 19 houses, a school and workshops, with the farm at its heart. ' - glencraig web site

The Recordings

- The Layout of the room in the Glencraig hall.

--

The recording area (monitoring and recorder) are located in the same room and therefore acoustics as the instruments, and with the "open" rather than close recording technique it is a challenge to get a balanced sound. If its wrong, there is no mix fix.
